The Problem

The Communications Department came to me with the facts and figures for the Annual Report. However, end-of-year numbers mean little without background or story.

The Solution

Using supporting imagery, I positioned the people who use our service at the front and center. I also explicitly connected the text to clear value statements with headlines and header text at the top of each page.

The Result

This humanized the report, helping all the seemingly disjointed updates from the previous year feel visually and thematically connected, implicitly and explicitly communicating that Pierce Transit is an intentional organization. It also created a compelling story that readers could latch onto and more easily understand, making the report a helpful tool for our Outreach teams to reference and share with community leaders and the public.
